In Queensland rent can be increased if the landlord gives the tenant at least 2 months’ notice in writing and it has been at least 6 months since the last rent increase, or since the tenancy started. When it comes to Fixed Term agreements there are a few more guidelines to follow. Visit the Residential Tenancies Authority below to access these guidelines.

Steps to complete

  • Visit the Residential Tenancies Authority above
  • Establish if you can increase the rent
  • Give the appropriate notice to your tenant/s of the rent increase
